Royal Enfield Sales Help Eicher Motors Post 40% Jump in Q2 Net

Sharemasterindia.com: Royal Enfield bike-maker Eicher Motors reported a 40 per cent year-on-year rise in net profit on the back of 30 per cent jump in revenues in the June quarter. Eicher Motors net profit of Rs 222 crore and sales of Rs 2,917 crore broadly met Street estimates.
 
Royal Enfield sales, which contribute around 50 per cent to Eicher Motors' revenue, jumped 44 per cent during the quarter. Revenues from sales of Royal Enfield jumped 47 per cent to Rs 1,097 crore during the quarter.

Oil Prices Resume Decline on Supply Glut Worries

Singapore(Sharemasterindia.com): Oil prices resumed their declines in Asia Wednesday following a US report showing stockpiles surged last week, with analysts warning for further weakness ahead.

Ahead of an official report, the industry-funded American Petroleum Institute (API) said stockpiles had increased by 2.3 million barrels last week.

US benchmark West Texas Intermediate for September delivery fell 70 cents to 50.16 a barrel and Brent crude for September tumbled 53 cents to $56.51 in late-morning Asian trade.

Sharemasterindia.com 9:31 a.m. Aurobindo Pharma falls 4% at its day's low after The Economic Times reported said that US FDA has raised quality issues at its Unit 12 manufacturing site. However, the stocks pared early losses and was down nearly 1 per cent.

9:25 a.m. Markets extend losses. Sensex down nearly 100 points while Nifty hovers near 8500.

9:20 a.m.: Asian Paints top Nifty gainer, rising nearly 2 per cent. The stock fell over 4 per cent on Tuesday after announcement of Q1 results. Devang Mehta, senior vice president at Anand Rathi Securities, says though earnings were in line with the estimates, cautious commentary of the management led to some selling pressure. Since valuations are very high, "I see limited upside for the stock in next 3-6 months. Buy over a 1-year perspective, any dips is a good buying opportunity, he added.
