Power Tariff in Delhi Increased by Up To 6 Per Cent, Effective From June 15


NewDelhi(Sharemasterindia.com):  Power tariff in the national capital was today hiked by up to six per cent by the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) as it restored a surcharge to compensate the private electricity distribution companies for rise in power purchase cost.

Reacting to the DERC's decision, the Aam Aadmi Party Government said it will ask the regulator to review the hike as it will put additional burden on the consumers.

The hike will be effective from Monday, June 15.

Google Launches a YouTube Built for Gamers

 
Sharemasterindia.com: Google Inc said on Friday that it is launching a live streaming gaming service called "YouTube Gaming", creating a rival to Amazon.com Inc's Twitch service.

The service, which will be available in the form of an app as well as a website, will focus exclusively on gamers and gaming.

More than 25,000 games will each have their own page on the site, bringing videos and live streams about various titles together in a single space, Google said.

US Opens Probe Against TCS, Infosys for H1-B Visa Violations


New York(Sharemasterindia.com): The US government has opened an investigation against two of the biggest Indian outsourcing companies, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Infosys, for possible violations of H1-B visa rules, according to a report.

"The Department of Labor has opened an investigation into two India-based outsourcing companies for possible violations of rules for visas for foreign technology workers under contracts they held with an electric utility, Southern California Edison," the New York Times reported.

Shares of TCS fell 2 per cent on Friday, while Infosys' shares declined nearly 1 per cent.
