Tata Motors in Focus Ahead of Q1 Earnings

Sharemasterindia.com: Tata Motors shares traded flat ahead of its June quarter results due later in the day. Analysts will be closely tracking how the Jaguar Land Rover-maker has performed in the key market of China.

Tata Motors shares are down 25 per cent over the last three months amid rising concerns about the slowdown in sales in China - the world's fastest-growing market. China caters to around one third of JLR's demand. On a consolidated level, JLR caters to around 80 per cent of Tata Motors annual sales.

Sharemasterindia.com 2:47 p.m.: Corporation Bank Q1 net profit at Rs 204 crore against estimates of Rs 143 crore. Stock slips 0.4 per cent to Rs 53.60.

2:45 p.m.: Nifty 8,500 put option was the most active contract on the National Stock Exchange. The premium on the contract jumped 8.5 per cent to Rs 69.65. 1.4 lakh shares were added to the open interest.

2:25 p.m.: Overall breadth was neutral as 1,373 stocks were advancing while 1,451 stocks were declining.

2:17 p.m.: Finolex Cables Q1 net profit at Rs 70 crore against estimates of Rs 50 crore. Stock jumps 0.7 per cent to Rs 256.

Sharemasterindia.com: Mahindra & Mahindra's standalone net profit dipped 3.4 per cent year-on-year to Rs 852 crore in the June quarter as the utility vehicle maker struggled to push sales. However, M&M's Q1 net was ahead of estimates, analysts said.
