Sensex Snaps Eight Day Winning Streak, Falls 75 Points

Manpasand Beverages IPO Opens: Read This Before Investing

Sharemasterindia.com: Manpasand Beverages hit the capital market on Wednesday to raise an estimated Rs 400-crore by way of initial public offer (IPO). The issue opened on June 24 and will close on June 26.
 
Manpasand Beverages is offering 1.25 crore shares in the price range of Rs 290 to Rs 320. The minimum lot size is 45 shares. Post this IPO the market capitalisation of the company is likely to be between Rs 1,452-Rs 1602 crore.

Aurobindo Pharma Surges Over 4%, Hits 52-Week High

Sharemasterindia.com: Aurobindo Pharma shares surged over 4 per cent to hit 52-week high of Rs 1,454 on the National Stock Exchange.
 
Including today's gain the stock has surged around 14 per cent in last seven trading sessions after the company said that it had received final approval from the US Food & Drug Administration (US FDA) to manufacture and market extended Phenytoin sodium capsules, which is an anti-epileptic drug used for controlling seizures.

Persistent Systems Slumps 9% on Q1 Warning

Sharemasterindia.com: Shares of Persistent Systems fell nearly 9 per cent at its day's low of Rs 656 after the mid-tier IT company warned about its April-June quarter results.

In a business update to the stock exchange, Persistent Systems said the dollar revenue in the first quarter could be marginally lower as compared to the previous quarter. The IT company attributed it to weakness in its current product engineering business, coupled with seasonal variability associated with its intellectual property business.

Persistent Systems also indicated potential margin pressure in the first quarter due to higher visa costs.

Sharemasterindia.com 10:20 a.m.: Nifty 8,400 call option was the most active call option on the National Stock Exchange. The premium on the option surged 31 per cent to Rs 36.80. 2.68 lakh shares were added on the contract and its open interest jumped to 5.14 million shares.

10:17 a.m.: From the FMCG space, Hindustan Uniliver advanced 2 per cent to Rs 891. ITC, Zydus Wellness, Colgate Palmolive, Dabur and Marico were also up 1-2 per cent each.

10:10 a.m.: The Sensex has advanced 100 points to 27,905 and the Nifty jumped 28 points to move above its crucial psychological level of 8,400 on the back of buying in FMCG and pharma stocks.

Japan's Nikkei led the way as a rise of 0.5 per cent cleared a peak from 2000 to reach ground last trod in late 1996.
