Srei Infra Surges on Rs 200 Crore NCD Issue


Sharemasterindia.com: Srei Infrastructure Finance shares rose over 4 per cent to hit an intraday high of Rs 35.75 on Tuesday, following the company's plans to raise Rs 200 crore via non-convertible debentures (NCDs) in its efforts to reduce finance costs.

NCD is a debt instrument that cannot be converted into share or equity.

Mortgage finance company Srei Infrastructure informed in a filing to the BSE on Tuesday the NCD issue will consist of 20 lakh secured, redeemable NCDs of face value of Rs 1,000 each.

Marksans Pharma Surges 10% on Acquisition of US-Based Time-Cap

New Delhi(Sharemasterindia.com): Marksans Pharma shares rose over 9 per cent to touch an intraday high of Rs 64.40 on Tuesday after the company said that it has acquired US-based Time-Cap Laboratories for an undisclosed amount..

The acquisition was done through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Marksans Pharma.

With this move, the company is strategically increasing its presence in the US market, the largest pharmaceutical market in the world, Marksans Pharma said in a filing to the BSE.

Sun Pharma Gains 3% on Reports of Drug Price Hike


Sharemasterindia.com: Sun Pharmaceuticals shares gained as much as 3 per cent to an intraday high of Rs 874 on Tuesday after reports suggest that the company hiked prices of some of Ranbaxy's drugs in the US market.
 
As per the Intercontinental Marketing Services (IMS) data, Sun Pharma hiked prices of six Ranbaxy branded drugs in the US market in the month of May.

HUL Reorganises Go-to-Market Operations, Creates 14 Consumer Clusters


Mumbai(Sharemasterindia.com): FMCG major Hindustan Unilever (HUL) on Monday said it has reorganised its go-to-market operations from traditional four sales branches to 14 consumer clusters to service diverse consumers across channels and geographies.

The company has termed this initiative 'Winning in Many Indias'.

"This model brings us closer to our local consumers and provides us with a more granular understanding of consumers and competitors. It helps us serve our diverse consumer base in more differentiated and relevant ways across the country," HUL chairman Harish Manwani said at the 82nd Annual General Meeting.

Coal India Gains Over 2%; Morgan Stanley Maintains Overweight


Sharemasterindia.com: Coal India shares gained over 2 per cent to an intraday high of Rs 416.80 on Tuesday after global brokerage major Morgan Stanley maintained 'outperform' rating on the stock with a target price of Rs 530 per share. This indicates a potential upside of 30 per cent over Monday's closing price.
 
Morgan Stanley says Coal India looks much better positioned for growth. The brokerage expects 31 per cent CAGR in the EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) of Coal India over FY2015-18, showing conviction in its volume growth and pricing power.

Thomas Cook Falls 8%, Company Expects 'Zero Impact' on Greek Crisis


Sharemasterindia.com: Shares of leisure travel firm Thomas Cook India and Cox & Kings, which send tourists to Europe fell as much as 8 per cent and 12 per cent respectively on Monday as chances of Greece exiting the euro zone increased as Greece is likely to default on its debt payment.
 
The possible exit of Greece from the euro zone may lead to revenue and foreign exchange losses for companies like Thomas Cook and Cox & Kings, traders felt.


Euro, Asian Stocks Plunge as Greece Seen on Course to Default



Tokyo(Sharemasterindia.com): The euro fell almost 2 per cent and share prices tumbled across Asia on Monday as Greece looked set to default on its debt repayment this week, forcing Athens to impose capital controls to halt bank runs.

With the prospect of Greece being forced out of the euro in plain sight, the common currency fell as much as 1.9 per cent to $1.0955, its lowest in almost a month, and last stood down 1.4 per cent at $1.1007.

Against the yen, the common currency dropped more than 3 per cent to 133.80 yen, a five-week low.

U.S. stock futures dived almost 2 per cent at one point to hitting a three-month low, and last traded down 1.6 per cent.

Motherson Sumi, Bharat Forge, Tata Motors Plunge on Greece Worries

Manpasand Beverages IPO Opens: Read This Before Investing

Including today's gain the stock has surged around 14 per cent in last seven trading sessions after the company said that it had received final approval from the US Food & Drug Administration (US FDA) to manufacture and market extended Phenytoin sodium capsules, which is an anti-epileptic drug used for controlling seizures.

Persistent Systems Slumps 9% on Q1 Warning


Sharemasterindia.com: Shares of Persistent Systems fell nearly 9 per cent at its day's low of Rs 656 after the mid-tier IT company warned about its April-June quarter results.

In a business update to the stock exchange, Persistent Systems said the dollar revenue in the first quarter could be marginally lower as compared to the previous quarter. The IT company attributed it to weakness in its current product engineering business, coupled with seasonal variability associated with its intellectual property business.

Persistent Systems also indicated potential margin pressure in the first quarter due to higher visa costs.

10:10 a.m.: The Sensex has advanced 100 points to 27,905 and the Nifty jumped 28 points to move above its crucial psychological level of 8,400 on the back of buying in FMCG and pharma stocks.

Next Mediaworks Surges 10%, Gains 60% in a Week

 Sharemasterindia.com: Next Mediaworks shares surged as much as 10 per cent to a high of Rs 13.88 on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Tuesday. Including today's gain the stock has surged 60 per cent in last one week.

Next Mediaworks, the holding company of Next Radio that operates FM channels under the brand name of "Radio One", is planning to raise Rs 115 crore through debt and equity for phase 3 of FM auction.

Rs 25 crore will be raised from ace investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and his wife Rekha Jhunjhunwala through allotment of preferential shares and remaining Rs 80-90 crore will be raised through debt, Next Mediaworks had said in a filing to exchanges.

Why Sun TV Shares Slumped 6% Today


Sharemasterindia.com: Sun TV shares fell as much as 6 per cent on Tuesday after Economic Times newspaper reported, citing sources, that the Prime Minister's Office has found merit in the Home Ministry's decision to deny the broadcaster security clearance for its 33 channels.

The issue of granting security clearance to Sun TV has divided the government, with the Information and Broadcasting Ministry and the Home Ministry taking opposite views.

Broadcasters such as Sun TV need a security clearance every 10 years in order to continue their operations. The Home Ministry wants to deny security clearance to Sun TV on the ground that its promoter Kalanithi Maran is being investigated for criminal cases.

Markets Gain for Seventh Day; Sensex Surges 400 Points, Nifty Ends Above 8,350

3:28 p.m.: Shrikant Chouhan of Kotak Securities told NDTV that, Bharti Airtel is out of the breakout of falling range and the stock can cross Rs 500 in the couple of months. Stock has good support at Rs 410-420.

3:22 p.m.: Bharti Airtel was among the notable losers on the Nifty. The stock fell 2 per cent to Rs 425. Reliance Industries, Lupin, UltraTech Cement, ONGC and Idea Cellular were also among the laggards.

Indiabulls Real Estate Soars as Promoter Plans to Hike Stake


Sharemasterindia.com: Indiabulls Real Estate shares jumped as much as 16.5 per cent on Monday following promoter Sameer Gehlaut's announcement about fund infusion in the realty developer.

Banking Stocks Surge; ICICI, SBI, HDFC Bank Lead Gains


Sharemasterindia.com: Banking shares rallied on Monday with the sectoral index Bank Nifty rising nearly 1.8 per cent as compared to a 0.90 per cent gain in Nifty. Analysts attributed the outperformance to a catch-up rally.

Banking stocks have underperformed the broader markets so far this month as concerns over a weak monsoon put in doubt future rate cuts by the Reserve Bank of India.

Bank Nifty is down nearly 4.5 per cent so far this month as compared to a 2.2 per cent loss in Nifty.

Lupin to Replace Tata Power on Sensex From Monday

New Delhi (Sharemasterindia.com): Drugmaker Lupin will replace private sector electricity producer Tata Power on the BSE benchmark index Sensex from Monday.

Since May 22, when the announcement was made by BSE, shares of Tata Power have lost nearly 5 per cent, while Lupin gained 4.6 per cent.

Sensex Gains 200 Points, Nifty Ends Above 8200; RIL Jumps 2%

Sensex Set For Biggest Weekly Gain in 5 Months; Mumbai Rains Hit Volumes


Mumbai(Sharemasterindia.com): Indian stocks rose on Friday, with benchmark Sensex heading for their biggest weekly gain in nearly five months. Market heavyweight Reliance Industries surged for a sixth straight session on optimism it would begin 4G phone services in December.

Cash share volumes were well below their 10-day average on the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange, as trading was disrupted by heavy rains in the nation's financial capital Mumbai.

Stocks also rose on value-buying and were on their way to snap the streak of three straight weekly losses, as the broader NSE index, Nifty, remains nearly 10 per cent below its record high hit in March.

Asian shares, which rose for a third consecutive day, also helped sentiment as investors bet US interest rates will not as rise quickly as expected.

No Bail For Subrata Roy, Sahara Asked to Pay Rs 36,000 Crore


Sharemasterindia.com: Jailed Sahara chief Subrata Roy failed to get bail from Supreme Court with the top court on Friday reiterating that his release is subject to furnishing Rs 5,000 crore in cash and Rs 5,000 crore in bank guarantee. The Sahara chief failed to raise the bank guarantee.
 
Mr Roy was arrested in March last year after the company failed to comply with a court order to refund money it had raised from millions of small investors by selling them bonds later ruled to be illegal.

LIC Hikes Stake in Hindalco to Over 13%

 Sharemasterindia.com: Aditya Birla-led Hindalco today said insurance giant LIC has raised its stake in the aluminium maker to over 13 per cent.

In a BSE filing, Hindalco said LIC acquired 2.009 per cent stake in the firm through open market transaction between April 16 and June 17, 2015.

After the transaction, the state-run firm's stake in Hindalco increased from 11.328 per cent to 13.337 per cent.

Sharemasterindia 9:20 a.m.: The Sensex advanced over 150 points and the Nifty moved above its crucial psychological level of 8,200 on the back of buying visible across the sectors.

Buying in stock markets was visible across sectors. BSE oil & gas index was the top sectoral gainer, up 0.85 per cent. Metal, capital goods, banking, healthcare and IT indices were also up 0.45-0.7 per cent each.

From the Nifty-50 basket of stocks, 41 stocks were advancing while 9 were declining.

Hindalco was the top Nifty gainer, the stock jumped 2 per cent to Rs 122 after LIC increased its stake in the company to 13 per cent.

Live: Sensex Gains Over 300 Points Led by RIL, HDFC Bank


Sharemasterindia.com 3:23 p.m.: Pradip Hotchandani of Prudent Broking Services told NDTV that Glenmark Pharma can touch Rs 1,050-1,060 in couple of days.

3:12 p.m.: The BSE Sensex and Nifty rose more than 1 per cent on Thursday, heading for their highest close in nearly 2-1/2 weeks, led by a surge in index heavyweight Reliance Industries for a fifth day, on optimism the company would begin 4G phone services in December.

"Seems like bulls are trying to put a bottom in place. The herd mentality of being underweight on India is at its peak," G. Chokkalingam, founder of Equinomics, a Mumbai-based research and fund advisory firm told Reuters.

Sun Pharma Gives Marching Orders to 18 Top-Ranking Officers: Report


Sharemasterindia.com: Sun Pharma, India's largest drugmaker by sales, has reportedly asked 18 of its top executives to leave the company. The high-ranking executives earlier worked with Ranbaxy Labs, the company Sun Pharma acquired from Japan's Daiichi Sankyo in April 2014.

According to media reports, Indrajit Banerjee, president and CFO of Ranbaxy and Yugal Sikri, country head (India) Ranbaxy are among those that have been asked to resign from the company. All 18 executives have been given a severance package, the reports said.

Eicher Motors, Polaris Industries Launch Utility Vehicle, Shares Gain

 Sharemasterindia.com: Eicher Motors, Polaris Industries together have rolled out the first vehicle called Multix from their joint venture called Eicher Polaris. Multix is a 5-seater PUV or personal utility vehicle, priced at Rs 2.32 lakh (ex-showroom Jaipur).

The Eicher Motors stock on Thursday rose over 2 per cent to Rs 19,688. At 1:14 pm it was trading over 1 per cent at Rs 19,525, outperforming the broader Nifty and the Sensex.

Jaitley Rings Closing Bell at New York Stock Exchange

 New York(Sharemasterindia.com): Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) here and also toured the trading floor of the world's largest stock exchange.

Mr Jaitley, who began his 10-day trip to the US on Wednesday, was accompanied by a high-level business delegation from India that included Ambuja Neotia Group Chairman Harshavardhan Neotia, Apollo Tyres Chairman Onkar Kanwar, Bharti Enterprises Vice Chairman and Managing Director Rajan Bharti Mittal and Bharat Hotels Chairperson and Managing Director Jyotsna Suri.

Mr Jaitley rang the customary closing bell at the NYSE at the close of trading day at 4 PM.

Bharti Airtel Falls After African Tower Sale Deal Called Off

 Sharemasterindia.com: Shares of Bharti Airtel fell nearly 2 per cent in early trade on Thursday after a tower sale deal related to its African operations fell through.

Bharti Airtel on Wednesday said its agreement with Helios Towers Africa for sale of tower assets in Tanzania and Tchad has been terminated. Bharti on July 9 last year signed a deal with Helios Towers Africa (HTA) to divest approximately 3,100 towers. Airtel was supposed to have access to these towers under a long-term lease contract.

Asia Stocks Up, Dollar Sags after Dovish Signals from Fed

 Tokyo(Sharemasterindia.com): Asian equities rose early on Thursday after the Federal Reserve sounded more dovish than many had expected and led investors to push back their expected timing of a rate hike, while the dollar was put on the defensive on the same token.

MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan climbed 0.3 per cent. South Korea's Kospi rose 0.7 per cent, while Japan's Nikkei dipped 0.1 per cent on the yen's gains against the dollar.

Wall Street shares inched higher in a choppy session overnight following the Fed's statements, with the Dow rising 0.17 per cent and S&P gaining 0.2 per cent.

Reliance Industries Jumps 4%, On Track for Fourth Straight Gain

Sharemasterindia.com: Reliance Industries, on track for a fourth straight session of gains, jumped 4 per cent on Wednesday. Since its 41st AGM on Friday, RIL shares are up 7.5 per cent as compared to 2.1 per cent gain in the broader Nifty.

Global investment bank UBS on Wednesday retained its "buy" rating on RIL with a 1-year target price of Rs 1,154. The brokerage expects RIL to post strong Q1 earnings on the back of strong gross refining margins.

Earlier, Kotak Institutional Equities had also retained its "buy" on Reliance Industries (target Rs 1,050) noting (1) robust earnings accretion from core-business projects and (2) recent strength in Asian refining as well as petrochemical margins.

Sensex Gains for Fourth Day, Jumps 119 Points

3:27 p.m.: Torrent Pharma up nearly 2%; Cabinet approves hike in FII investment limit and Kotak Mahindra Bank off day's high, up 0.24%; Cabinet defers proposal for increase in foreign investment limit.

3:26 p.m.: Cipla Ltd, India's fourth-largest drugmaker by sales, is planning to enter Latin America and Eastern Europe to tap into growing demand for generic drugs in emerging markets, Chief Executive Subhanu Saxena said.

3:18 p.m.: Reliance Industries, on track for a fourth straight session of gains, jumped 4 per cent on Wednesday. Since its 41st AGM on Friday, RIL shares are up 7.5 per cent as compared to 2.1 per cent gain in the broader Nifty.

3:10 p.m.: Banking and power stocks are witnessing some profit-booking. The Bank Nifty was down 0.12 per cent and the power index slipped 0.35 per cent.

3:05 p.m.: The markets have come off the intraday highs. The Sensex which touched high of 26,983.48 was up 132 points at 26,818 and the Nifty advanced 41 points to 8,088.

Monsoon Concerns Weigh on Gold Demand

Sharemasterindia.com: Mumbai/Singapore: Indian gold demand remained sluggish this week as concerns over a weak monsoon forced farmers, key to the country's bullion demand, to cut back spending.

Indian prices are at a discount of around $1 an ounce to the global benchmark, said traders.

Nearly two-thirds of India's gold demand comes from rural areas where jewellery is a traditional store of wealth for millions who have no access to the formal banking system.

"Demand is quite weak compared to last month," said Mangesh Devi, a jeweller from Maharashtra whose customers are mainly sugar cane and vegetable growers.

Adani Power Gains Amid Acquisition Buzz

Sharemasterindia.com: Shares of Adani Power were in focus on Wednesday after reports said that it is in talks to acquire Avantha Power's 1,260-MW power project in Madhya Pradesh. If the deal materialises, it would be second such deal between the two companies.

Adani Power had earlier acquired Gautam Thapar-led Avantha group's 600-MW Korba West unit.

Another report said that Adani Power is also in talks to buy Essar Power Transmission. Essar Power Transmission is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Essar Power.

Tata Steel Gains 3.5% as UK Trade Unions Suspend Industrial Action


Sharemasterindia.com: Shares of Tata Steel rebounded on Wednesday after trade unions decided to suspend industrial action at the steelmaker's UK plants. Shares of Tata Steel surged nearly 3.5 per cent to Rs 304 in early trade. Shares of Tata Steel had suffered losses in the past four sessions.

The unions' industrial action, including an overtime ban and work to rule action, which began on Tuesday morning will be suspended from Wednesday to Saturday, while trade unions consult their members on a revised offer from the company. The original plan for strike action on June 22 has not changed for now.

Why analysts are upbeat on Insecticides (India) shares

IIL is a small-cap company with market capitalisation of Rs 975.48 crore and is engaged in the production of formulation and technical agro chemicals and pesticides. It has a portfolio of 99 formulation and 18 technical products

Being in the agrochemical space, monsoon plays a vital role in driving demand for the sector. While there has been a forecast of weak monsoon in 2015, there has not been an instance of two consecutive years of deficient rainfall in the past (2014 monsoon was deficient at 88 per cent of LPA).

Ramky Infra Gains as Lenders Approve Debt Restructuring

Ramky Infrastructure shares rose nearly 5 per cent to hit an intraday high of Rs 30.75 on Tuesday after six lenders from a consortium of nine banks approved the company's debt restructuring plan.

Construction and engineering firm Ramky Infrastructure said in a filing to the BSE that on June 12, the company executed the debt restructuring with six lenders comprising namely State Bank of India, State Bank of Hyderabad, Punjab National Bank, IDBI Bank, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank.

Ramky Infrastructure CFO Vijay Kumar told NDTV that the total debt restructuring package is pegged at Rs 2,700 crore. He also said the six banks, which approved the debt restructuring of the company, constitute about 92 per cent of the restructured debt.
