Live: Sensex Falls Over 300 points; Tata Motors, RIL Among Top Losers


Sharemasterindia.com 1:41 p.m.: Jindal Steel, Tata Motors, Reliance Industries, BHEL, DLF and State Bank of India among the top losers on the Sensex.

1:39 p.m.: Sensex falls over 300 points to 26,539 and Nifty plunges 100 points to 8,025 on the back of broad-based selling.

1:35 p.m.: European markets open on a positive note; Germany's DAX up 0.6 per cent and French CAC40 index jumps 0.4 per cent.


1:27 p.m.: Glenmark Pharma shares gain nearly 2 per cent to hit high of Rs 874 after the company said that it received ANDA approval for Calcipotriene Cream. The cream is used in treatment of skin diseases.

1:12 p.m.: The Sensex was down 282 points at 26,558 and the Nifty fell 93 points to 8,030. Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, HDFC and HDFC Bank were leading the losses.

1:05 p.m.: Surana Solar shares jumped as much as 17.4 per cent in early trade on Wednesday after data from the National Stock Exchange showed that Rakesh Jhunjhunwala had bought 2.56 lakh shares or 0.5 per cent stake in the Hyderabad-based company on Tuesday.
