Ashok Leyland Jumps 3% on Robust June Sales

Sharemasterindia.com: Ashok Leyland shares jumped as much as 3 per cent to hit intraday high of Rs 76.3 after the company posted strong sales numbers for the month of June 2015.


 
Ashok Leyland reported total sales of 10,461 units in the month of June 2015, which was 41 per cent higher over the same month last year.

Ashok Leyland's June sales numbers were much higher than the Street estimates. Analysts polled by NDTV had estimated the company to sell 9,688 units in June.

Medium and heavy commercial vehicles registered a year-on-year growth of 46 per cent while light commercial segment witnessed a growth of 26 per cent for Ashok Leyland.

As of 9.24 a.m. Ashok Leyland shares traded 2.02 per cent higher at 75.60 apiece, outperforming the broader Nifty, which was down 0.2 per cent.
